Beauty is the art of living! Caudalie The Des Vignes

Beauty is the art of living!

Title of this post is a sentence that summarizes the philosophy behind the Caudalie brand. The story starts in the vineyards of Bordeaux, near the Atlantic Ocean, where the matrimonial couple Matilde and Bertrand Thomas have vineyards and, in accordance with the tradition of the place in which they live as well as all of France, produce wine. In 1992, during the grape harvest, a professor of pharmacy, Dr. Vercauteren said to them: “Are you aware that you throw treasure?”

The professor thought of the moss after grape extraction, extremely rich in precious molecules – polyphenols! Polyphenols, highly concentrated in grapes, are natural antioxidants, or substances that fight cell damage caused by external factors (pollution, sunlight). The consequence is, among other things, damage to the skin, so the idea of cosmetics that will have anti-aging properties was born. Thomas couple has launched a brand based on grape derivatives, in collaboration with the Bordeaux faculty of medicine, and it can freely be said that magic of quality skin care has begun.

New Caudalie collection

In the elegant ambiance of Chez Nik restaurant in Belgrade, I had the chance to attend the presentation of the new Caudalie line The Des Vignes. Jasmina Vukicevic and Jelena Zaric held a nice presentation, sharing with us the passion that drives Caudalie. The best-selling pharmaceutical brand in Europe, the finest ingredients, advanced production technologies, patented patents, all point to a very serious cosmetic story, but all this does not mean much if there is no efficacy in the background. If you follow my blog, you know that Caudalie is a brand I’ve been using for years, and I’m responsibly claiming that every investment in their products is worth it because they are beautiful for your skin. Caudalie SOS serum (you can read about here) is unbelievably good for hydration, and for creams and lotions from this post I have only words of praise.

The Des Vignes

The Des Vignes collection combines precious dry body and hair oil, perfume, shower gel, rich body lotion, hand cream as well as lip balm. They all share a commonly brilliant scent of white musk, neroli, and ginger. The shower gel is formulated without soap, does not irritate the skin, does not dry out, does not disturb the acidic pH of the skin, and is enriched with aloe vera for additional hydration. The perfume is actually fragrant water that is perfectly pleasant to the skin, and safe for wearing during hot days because it does not contain alcohol and will not cause dark spots in contact with the sun’s rays. The body lotion has probably the nicest metal pack ever, sophisticated and purple, with a pump for easier dosing, and the formula is extremely gentle and yet nutritious. Hand cream and lip balm are practical and nice to use, but the star of this post is certainly dry oil.

Caudalie dry oil

The Des Vignes Body & Hair Nourishing Oil comes in a beautiful cylindrical bottle of 100 ml. It is enriched with powerful vegetable oils, in the first place olive oil, then sesame, shea butter, sunflower, argan and rosehip oil. It is multifunctional in the sense that the formula is not greasy, it is extremely absorbent, making the skin nourished, and it has the same effect on the ends of the hair. Thanks to its rich formula based on polyphenols, it helps regenerate the skin. It is recommended to massage the skin with circular movements from the lower extremities to the top of the body. This oil can be used as a night treatment for the hair. It is primarily intended for dry skin, but it will not be too heavy for the greasy type as the formula is fairly light. As with all Caudalie products, and with this dry oil you get the feeling of luxury and superior care from the SPA center. When I mention it, I recommend that you stop at Caudalie SPA if you ever visit Bordeaux, it is an experience to remember.

Do you use something from the Caudalie brand and do you have experience with dry oils?
